AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> President Hussein Mwinyi has announced the death of the First Vice President<\/strong>\u00a0of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad.<\/p>\n

Addressing the nation on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Dr Mwinyi said the prominent politician passed away at around 11:26 in Muhimbili National Hospital, Dar es Salaam, where he was receiving treatments.<\/p>\n

According to Dr Mwinyi, Maalim Seif was admitted at the hospital on February 9, this year.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the citizens, the President sent a message of condolence to the family, relatives and ACT-Wazalendo party as well as the general public over the demise of Maalim.<\/p>\n

He said more information regarding the death will be provided by his government in cooperation with the family.<\/p>\n

However, President Mwinyi has declared seven days of\u00a0national mourning in honour of the late Maalim Seif.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
