AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> YOUNG Africans midfielder Carlinho Fernandes \u2018Carlinhos\u2019 was quick to apologise to the public following his un-sportsmanship conduct during their game with Ken Gold over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Yanga snatched a slim 1-0 win against the First Division League (FDL) side from Chunya, Mbeya to march into the fifth round of the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC).<\/p>\n

During the match, the Angolan import midfielder punched Ken Gold player at the back when the ball was already out of action a move which saw him pocketing a straight red card few minutes after being introduced from the bench.<\/p>\n

It was simply a conduct which is never entertained in a game of football, since sport is all about fair play no matter the circumstances you encounter on the field of play.<\/p>\n

However, he took it to his official Instagram page where he wrote: \u201cI apologise to all Yanga fans especially colleagues, coaches and team leaders for the red card I got today. \u201cNow, I will raise my head so that after the suspension, I should come back stronger and help the team achieve the main goal of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting on the development, Yanga Head Coach admitted it was not a good conduct from his player bus insisted that he did not deserve the red card.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think that he was hurt from the punching but it was a poor reaction from him (Carlinhos) but I think the incidence did not deserve red card. \u201cHe is a good player and was regaining his fitness levels as such to miss him in the upcoming matches, to me is not healthy because he has a big impact in the team,\u201d Kaze said.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Burundian coach pointed out that he talked with Carlinhos after the game and he regretted his misconduct.<\/p>\n

According to him, they have forgotten what transpired on the day and their focus now is on the next league match against Coastal Union at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Though not famously known, Ken Gold who are based in Chunya in Mbeya, are among the teams doing well in the First Division League (FDL) no wonder they occupy third slot in their group A with 16 points from ten encounters.<\/p>\n

They played good football like a team already parading in the top flight league thereby giving Yanga a tough game to withstand and it could have gone either way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
