AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> NAIROBI, Kenya Defending champions Gor Mahia has received another blow in their race to defend the Kenya Premier League (FKFPL) title after a 2-0 loss to KCB at Moi International Stadium, Kasarani, in the city.<\/p>\n

The second-half player from the bench, David Simiyu and Victor Omondi scored and added more pressure to the 19-time Kenyan champions.<\/p>\n

The victory, which is KCB’s first after losing their last three matches, saw the team move up to second place with 29 points, six behind leaders Tusker, while Gor slipped to 13th place with 16 points.<\/p>\n

KCB has played 14 matches, Gor has played 12 matches.<\/p>\n

KCB made the attack in the second minute through their striker, Henry Onyango who headed in a free kick from the right, but his efforts were thwarted by Gor Mahia goalkeeper Oluoch.<\/p>\n

Gor’s open space was in the 10th minute when Samuel Onyango poured a cross that landed on Brazilian Wilson Silva, but was intercepted by veteran midfielder Michael Mutinda.<\/p>\n

Two minutes later, KCB were lucky to get a goal after Kenneth Muguna who had not been hit by a header into the box but did not score.<\/p>\n

Derrick Otanga missed KCB’s clear chance to take the lead in the 42nd minute when he fired a shot past goalkeeper Oluoch after Simon Munala hit a cross from the right.<\/p>\n

Gor coach Vaz Pinto made two changes together, replacing Clifton Miheso and Abdul Karim with John Macharia and Alpha Onyango.<\/p>\n
