AfricaPress-Tanzania<\/strong>: CRDB Bank Plc in the Central zone has embarked on a programme aimed at empowering women with business skills as well as marketing and financial management to facilitate loan access.<\/p>\n

Addressing more than 100 women delegates from private and public sectors at the one-day seminar organized by the bank in the central zone, Senior Product Manager from the head office in Dar es Salaam, Rachel Senni, said through Malkia account the bank aims at finding a solution to challenges facing women in accessing loans.<\/p>\n

Malkia Account is a woman’s unique saving plan designed especially for women With a Malkia to meet financial obligations, as well as personal goals and dreams, be it in investment, education, business, health, and others.<\/p>\n

According to Senni, through the initiative, the bank aims at taking one percent of its profits to the public as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) but also targets to increase the number of women who access loans from the current 20-percent.<\/p>\n

Zonal Business Manager, Jane Maganga, called for women to participate in CRDB\u2019s seminars to get knowledge of networking, marketing, and financial management, which among other factors hinder women from realizing their dreams.<\/p>\n

\u201c know how to promote your products, that\u2019s why CRDB assisted customers with trade show events to share entrepreneurship skills as a way of promoting their products,\u2019\u2019 she said, pointing out that lack of financial management skills is one of the problems for most women, saying women most of the time take a loan then spend it to unnecessary expenditures.<\/p>\n

Janeth Kamunyu, one of the beneficiaries of Malkia Account, said the training was useful because a customer is now able to open with 5,000\/- while the time before was 50,000\/-<\/p>\n
