AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> ORMER Simba SC striker, Junior Lokosa, has been heavily linked with a move to South Africa football big guns Kaizer Chiefs, according to Global Football Reports.<\/p>\n

Lokosa was released by the Tanzanian soccer giants a few days ago, and it seems like he will be playing in South Africa’s DStv Premiership next season.<\/p>\n

Global Football Reports stated that Lokosa is set to fly to South Africa today for the medical fitness with Chiefs.<\/p>\n

Kaizer Chiefs are very busy behind close doors as they are preparing for the 2021\/22 season.<\/p>\n

They are experiencing a dissapointing season as they failed to add new players to the squad to due transfer ban.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian attacker had parted ways with Simba SC after spending only two months with the club.<\/p>\n

The striker suffered a long-term injury, and that saw his minutes limited while he was still at Esp\u00e9rance Sportive de Tunis.<\/p>\n

The Tunisian side opted to part ways with the Nigerian striker and he joined Simba SC in the January transfer window.<\/p>\n

The player will fly to South Africa in order to go the fitness test and trials with Kaizer Chiefs.<\/p>\n

Should the player pass the trials, he will then join the club for the following season.<\/p>\n

He will be a good addition to the Amakhosi squad as they are struggling in front of goal this season.<\/p>\n

Samir Nurkovic has struggled this season and, should Lokosa join them, he will give Nurkovic competition.<\/p>\n

Simba SC’s leadership had, a day earlier, announced the outfit has parted ways with their Nigerian striker, Junior, after missing three days in the side’s training.<\/p>\n

Lokosa joined Simba two months ago from Tunisia’s Esperance, which he served before returning to Nigeria where he was out of action for more than eight months.<\/p>\n

Simba signed the striker believing he could get back to his best and help them in this season’s CAF Champions League group stage.<\/p>\n

Didier Gomes, Simba’s coach, recently admitted that the squad’s two signings in the mini transfer window, Lokosa and Zimbabwean central defender Peter Muduhwa, are good but they have a tough test.<\/p>\n

Gomes said: \u201cLokosa failed to play competitive matches for a long time, given the country’s soccer tournament he was participating in was suspended because of COVID-19, so until the time he got here he was not physically fit.”<\/p>\n

“I need more time to improve Lokosa and restore his physical fitness and after that I will give him a chance to play, that’s why he has not been seen in competitive matches so far,” he said.<\/p>\n

He noted: “Muduhwa has been doing well even in practice but it is difficult to reduce players who play well and understand each other in the league but if there is a challenge or need more playing space is possible.”<\/p>\n

“After the season is over we will evaluate the whole squad and look at the needs of our team and then I will give my perspective on the players we need to stay with and areas to strengthen,” he disclosed.<\/p>\n
