AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> TANZANIA Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has revoked the network facilities licence issued to Wiafrica Tanzania. TRCA said in a public notice on Thursday that the licence was revoked after Wiafrica failed to honour the agreements to provide services to customers since it was granted the document seven years ago.<\/p>\n

TCRA said Wiafrica had applied for and been licensed in 2014 to provide electronic and postal communication services but could not comply nor paying regulatory fees.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe licensee has failed to provide the licensed services to customers as required, and failed to pay regulatory fees as required,\u201d TRCA notice on the \u2018Daily News\u2019 said.<\/p>\n

TRCA quoted some sections of the Electronic and Postal Communications Act, Cap. 306. The sections were 21(b) and 21(g) for service providing and paying of fees, respectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy the powers vested upon it by the law the Authority hereby informs the public that the licences issued to Wiafrica Tanzania Limited are cancelled,\u201d TCRA said.<\/p>\n

TCRA has been vested with the power to cancel or suspend a licence under section 22 \u201cif a licensee is in material breach of licence conditions and has failed to remedy such breach.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, before it cancelled the licence, TCRA consulted the Minister for Communication and Information Technology on the intended move. Wiafrica Tanzania is a tech telecommunications company that had strived to build a 4G network across the country.<\/p>\n

The firm was engaged in provision of internet services, fibre and wireless, Router CPE. Also Wiafrica wanted to concentrate to network construction and telecom operation which supports dualstream voice that is allowing people to have voice communications by using their Multicarrier Wireless Information Local Loop (McWill) Technology. McWiLL is the most advanced broadband wireless solution.<\/p>\n

The technology is based on Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (SCDMA). McWiLL combines SCDMA\u2019s traditional use in narrow-band voice and introduces a mobile broadband data service that ties into an IP-based core network. It is based on CS-OFDMA adaptive modulation, and uses dynamic channel allocation and smart antennas to hance its throughput.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
