AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> A 69th minute goal by Diamond Chikwekwe was enough to give Zambia\u2019s Nkana FC an away win over Tanzania envoys in the African Confederation Cup at Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.<\/p>\n

That was the first victory for the Zambian side in the group stage of CAF Confederation after losing two previous matches. Namungo lost 0-1 to Raja Casablanca away and 0-2 at home to Egypty\u2019s Pyramids FC.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, that was also the third consecutive defeat for Lindi -based outfit that is making a maiden appearance in the international football competitions. The defeats leave them at the bottom of Group D without a point.<\/p>\n

The match was decisive for Namungo FC and the defeat has therefore dashed their hopes of advancing to the next stage of the competition. Pyramids FC are at the top of the table with six points after winning two matches while Raja Casablanca are second with the same number of points.<\/p>\n

Nkana therefore sit at third place with three points, leaving Namungo tailing at the bottom. The match took off with either sides dilly dallying with the ball in the first half. Namungo pressed for goals but their strikers were not on target.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nigeria\u2019s Enyimba and Cameroon\u2019s Coton sport took the lead of their respective groups in the 2020-21 Total CAF Confederation Cup after achieving wins on Sunday Two-time African champions Enyimba defeated Algeria\u2019s ES Setif 2-1 in Aba, to go top of Group A on six points, while Setif \u2013 who are themselves twotime former African champions \u2013 remained rock bottom on a lone point.<\/p>\n

The Algerian visitors opened the scoring after 13 minutes vis Monsef Bakrar after a collective teamwork. The 20-years-old striker gave Setif the lead and hope to get something from Aba back home. Five minutes later, Enyimba missed a penalty when goalkeeper Sofiane Khedairia stopped Augustine Oladepo\u2019s effort from the spot.<\/p>\n

But Enyimba managed to restore parity five minutes from halftime, when Oladepo made amends for his earlier miss to send both teams to the break level on 1-1. After the break, Enyimba increased their pace, and managed to take the lead on the hour mark via Tosin Omoyele, who made the best of Emmanuel Iwuala\u2019s pass.<\/p>\n

Libya\u2019s Ahli Benghazi takes on South Africa\u2019s Orlando Pirates later on the day in Benina in the group\u2019s other game. Meanwhile in Lusaka, Zambia\u2019s NAPSA Stars fell at home to visitors Coton Sport 1-0, as the Cameroonians went top of Group B on six points, five more than their Zambian hosts who remained fourth.<\/p>\n
