Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE Chief Court Administrator, Mr Mathias Kabunduguru, has directed the Deputy Registrars and Court Administrators to be accountable at their workplaces and judiciously manage the budget allocated to achieve various programmes aimed at improving the justice system in the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Kabunduguru made the appeal over the weekend while closing training on record keeping for Judicial Officers at the Institute of Rural Development Planning in Dodoma, according to a statement issued yesterday by the Judiciary\u2019s Information and Commutations Department.<\/p>\n

The Chief Court Administrator assured the participants to the training session that the Judiciary budget for the financial year 2021\/2022 has taken into account the key requirements to enable them to fulfill their responsibilities and various activities in providing justice to the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my hope that you will increase your diligence and greater commitment to fulfill the responsibilities of ensuring that the judicial services are available in a timely manner in accordance with acceptable procedures and standards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Kabunduguru added that in addition to the implementation of strategic responsibilities he urged the Judicial Officers to everyone continue to supervise and promote the effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in his or her area.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Judiciary of Tanzania expects to start the implementation of a new strategic plan where there will be increase on the use of electronic services in various judicial activities,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

He also reminded the participants of the training to continue to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Government Online Authority (eGA) in order to have better control of various ICT systems available within the Judiciary.<\/p>\n

On his part, the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary of Tanzania, Mr Wilbert Chuma, reminded the participants of the training to work together as they are all \u2018building\u2019 one house.<\/p>\n

\u201cWork together to achieve the goal of timely justice, not forgetting to implement on time the instructions given by the leaders in order to move forward,\u201d said Mr Chuma.<\/p>\n

The Chief Registrar urged the Registrars and Court Administrators to address the various challenges facing their subordinates to motivate them to work more.<\/p>\n

During the training, participants were introduced to a variety of topics including the relationship and importance that exists between record keeping, the use of archives and documentation of various documents as well as electronic registration of cases.<\/p>\n

The other topics included the management and auditing of the Judiciary, financial management and records through the new \u2018MUSE\u2019 system and internal systems and budget management.<\/p>\n

Two training sessions for Registrars and Court Administrators were organised by the Judiciary in collaboration with the Lushoto based Institute of Judicial Administration.<\/p>\n

The first session was officially opened on April 12, 2021 and was completed on April 14, 2021. \u2018 Another training involving the second batch of such judicial officers was opened on April 15, 2021 and closed on April 17, 2021.<\/p>\n

When opening the first training at the same place in the Capital City, the Judge in Charge of High Court, Dodoma Zone, Mr Mustapher Siyani, appealed to such judicial officers to continue managing record keeping, including ICT systems used to keep various records and court documents.<\/p>\n

Judge Siyani said that the Judiciary of Tanzania is the Pillar of State entrusted with the task of delivering justice in the country, thus keeping court records and documents be it for cases or administrative issues was very important and inevitable.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me remind you that you are the leaders, so you have a responsibility of overseeing judicial activities, including the management of record keeping systems.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the success of the Judiciary depends largely on your performance for the benefit of the people we serve,\u201d the judge explained.<\/p>\n

He said that the Judiciary has made strides in the design, construction, installation and management of various systems including the electronic registration system, commonly called the Judiciary Statistical Dashboard System (JSDS2), all aimed at facilitating access to records and ultimately access to justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
