Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>RULING Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) women wing (UWT) has commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan landslide victory as the first woman to serve CCM\u2019s highest post since its formation.<\/p>\n

The win, according to UWT Chairperson, Gaudensia Kabaka signified a symbol of downsizing of patriarchal system in Tanzania politics and ushering new era of women in top leadership.<\/p>\n

Ms Kabaka gave the sentiments during a special CCM national congress which among others elected President Samia Suluhu Hassan to the top most party post replacing the late President John Magufuli.<\/p>\n

During the party\u2019s extra ordinary congress, members also showered praise to women as they elected Rehema Simba and Happiness Mgongo as the National Executive Committee members defeating other four male contestants.<\/p>\n

CCM women wing gave a special award to President Samia Suluhu Hassan in recognition of new era of women leadership in the country assuring her of maximum support to fulfill her duties.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have set a precedent that eliminates the male dominance system in leadership and we are confident that you will make excel and prove that women can make it if given opportunity\u201d said MsKabaka .<\/p>\n

She prayed that CCM Chairperson be granted good health while being guided by wisdom and prudence so that she leads the country to the right path as well as right decision making.<\/p>\n

In the election under the acting Chairmanship of Philiph Mangula saw Ms Samia scooping all votes from 1862 members cast in a full pack.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have made history being the first CCM Chairperson since independence and we believe you are going to do justice to the post by making positive changes for a bright future\u201d said Ms Kabaka.<\/p>\n

For the two posts in NEC, the contestants and their votes in brackets were Kulwa Majiyabululu (408), Asharaf Kuyobya (434), Nguvu Chengula (542), Fadhil Ngezi (577) while the winners Happiness Mgongo scooped 839 votes and Rehema Simba got 867.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
