Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>TANZANIANS have been urged to learn untold stories of their country through storytelling which is believed to be one of the ways that could be used to bridge the gap and sense of their identities.<\/p>\n

According to the Co-founder of the Storytelling & Strategy at Onastories Mr Princely Glorious, currently, there are many untold stories in the country that once told could shape the nation\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n

He said this at the ongoing Innovation week 2021(IWTz2021) with a theme \u201cInnovation for Resilient and Inclusive Digital Economy\u201d organised by Human Development Innovation Fund (HDIF) in collaboration with COSTECH and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).<\/p>\n

Mr Glorious said that, the stories taught in schools had focused on colonial era and forget the Tanzania\u2019s untold stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important as Africans, in particular Tanzanians, not to wait for other countries to tell the stories of our own country,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

The Co-Founder noted that, the policy makers and other stakeholders should start changing people\u2019s minds to know the importance of the country\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Mr Glorious said each generation should discover its mission, adding that digital tools can help to shape on the identity.<\/p>\n

He said storytelling was bringing language learning alive and creating a participatory and immersive experience that allows young learners to enjoy hearing the language in a dynamic.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was time for the society to start telling the untold stories to their generations, sharing the ideas on what has been planted, what\u2019s to be planted and what we should plant to ignite the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Glorious, who is also an entrepreneur, noted that, there was a gap in the history taught in primary and secondary schools since it tells about colonialism and forget untold stories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
