Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday appointed 23 ambassadors including Tanzania People’s Defence Forces Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Yakub Mohamed and Navy Commander Major General Richard Makanzo.<\/p>\n

A statement issued by Director of Presidential Communications Unit Gerson Msigwa, noted that the appointments are effective beginning yesterday and they will be sworn in on a date to be announced later.<\/p>\n

According to the statement new envoys with their posts in bracket are Pereira Ame Silima (former Home Affairs Deputy Minister) Ms Maulidah Hassan (Private Assistant to the President Diplomatic Affairs), Togolani Mavura (Private Secretary to former President Jakaya Kikwete), Edwin Rutegaruka (Tanzania Trade Development Authority) and Fredrick Kibuta (Senior Officer State House).<\/p>\n

President Samia also appointed Noel Kaganda (Credit Officer State House), Mindi Kasiga (Marketing Director Tanzania Tourist Board), Caroline Chipeta (Acting Head of Legal Affairs Unit Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation), and Macocha Tembele ( Acting Director of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation) and former Miss Tanzania Hoyce Temu a journalist and an entrepreneur as new ambassadors.<\/p>\n

The list also included Agnes Kayola (Acting Head Department of Regional Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African), Masoud Balozi (Acting Director Foreign Affairs Office -Zanzibar) and Ceasar Waitara (Director of Asia and Australia Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation).<\/p>\n

The statement further said that other new ambassadors are Swahiba Mndeme (Senior Officer Tanzania Embassy in Washington DC), Said Mshana (Senior Officer State House), Alex Kallua (Senior Officer State House), Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (former Zanzibar Minister for Tourism and Antiquities) and James Bwana (Assistant Regional Administrative Secretary Shinyanga ).<\/p>\n

Equally named are Said Shaib Mussa Director (Zanzibar State House), Elsie Kanza (Special Advisor to the President of the World Economic Forum) and Robert Kahendaguza (Deputy Permanent UN Representative).<\/p>\n

Since assuming power in March 19 this year, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made several appointments of cabinet ministers, permanent secretaries, heads of public institutions and regional commissioners among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
