Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Innocent Bashungwa has congratulated Simba for their good performance against Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The two sides met at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam in a judgmental match of the reverse leg of CAF Champions League quarterfinals on Saturday.<\/p>\n

However, after the tense 90 minutes of footwork action, hosts Simba, even though they won the game 3-0, could not proceed into the last four as their opponents had an aggregate 4-3 advantage hence marched into the semis.<\/p>\n

Writing on his Instagram page, Bashungwa said: \u201cSimba have used well 90 minutes. You did your best but that\u2019s how sports go.<\/p>\n

Congratulations. \u201cThank you my fellow Tanzanians for the good manners of continuing to support our clubs whenever they reach international stages.<\/p>\n

It is something good worth emulation.\u201d Also, a Member of Parliament for Muheza Constituency Hamis Mwinjuma (Mwana FA) expressed his pride for Simba through his Instagram account where he wrote. \u201cIt was a VIP table; to overturn it was very difficult.<\/p>\n

But, I\u2019m so proud of you boys. You really fought hard. I feel pain for being bundled out but I have nothing to owe you.<\/p>\n

Thank you very much.\u201d Likewise, Simba Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Barbara Gonzalez also via her Instagram page wrote the following: \u201cToday we have been eliminated heroically.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur players deserve big compliments. They fought hard in drops of sweat and blood but lucky was not to our side.<\/p>\n

I continue to say we have the best team. Job well done team. We are proud.\u201d Several South Africans also saluted Simba despite being knocked out. Unity Mpoko wrote \u2018As Kaizer Chiefs fan, I admit that we won against the tough opponents in this competition.<\/p>\n

We never met such an attacking team like Simba before. I have so much respect for Simba SC.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince Simba is out, then we will be crowned champions of Africa this year\u2026 no team will stop us. We\u2019re the best in Africa,\u201d he conclude Youssef ElBadry wrote \u2018Simba is a good team but they haven\u2019t qualified because of the huge number of missed chances.\u201d<\/p>\n

From 12 games Simba played in this year\u2019s champions league campaign, they stamped seven wins, recorded three losses and posted two draws.<\/p>\n
