Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>YOUNG Africans have clearly stated that they are ready to work with any investor who is willing to come forward and help in the smooth running of the club financially and materially.<\/p>\n

This was said recently in Dar es Salaam by the club\u2019s Vice- Chairman of Players\u2019 Registration Committee Hersi Said, who also serves as GSM\u2019s Director of Investment responsible for supplying the club with kits, merchandise and financial support.<\/p>\n

His sentiments came following ongoing speculations that former Yanga Chairman Yusuf Manji, who jetted back in the country recently, is planning to rejoin the sponsorship bench of the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs GSM, if Manji rejoins the club as one of the financiers, it would be a blessing because the revenue collected from sponsors and other economic means cannot meet day to day operations of the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe revenue is meagre in comparison with expenditure as such, if anybody comes to provide a helping hand, it will be a big boost.<\/p>\n

For example, GSM pays 100 per cent of the signing fee, Avic Town camp, travel costs as well as salaries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf another individual shows interest to partner with us, we will be ready to work with anyone, thereby channelling resources to other important things of the club,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Hersi also admitted that last season, there were challenges experienced in the player signings exercise, saying that is the main reason they want to embrace club transformation in order to solve such challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have an ordinary style of player signings which does not match with the current world of football and I believe that when we are fully transformed, mistakes encountered during player signings will be an issue of the past,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Queried why the club has been making headlines in terms of hiring and firing of coaches this season, Hersi responded that none of the fired coaches was sent packing by the interest of any person within the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me be clear that the decision to let go a coach is reached by taking into consideration interest of the club and not individual interest,\u201d he elaborated.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the friendly match which Yanga lined up against African Lyon today at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam has been cancelled due to reasons which were not immediately disclosed.<\/p>\n

Yanga\u2019s next Mainland Premier League match will be played on June 17th against Ruvu Shooting at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

They remain glued to the second place with 61 points from 29 matches, six points behind leaders Simba, who are at the peak of the table with 67 points after 27 outings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
