Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE construction sector grew by 9.1 per cent in 2020 overshadowing the mining sector that grew by 6.7 per cent.<\/p>\n

Finance and Planning Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba revealed on Thursday that construction sector retained its position amid the novel coronavirus pandemic related problems.<\/p>\n

He said Information and Communication as well as Transportation and Logistics come second each with a growth rate of 8.4 per cent. Other sectors include, Administration-related services (7.8 per cent); Professional, Scientific and Technical activities (7.3 per cent); Minerals and stones (6.7 per cent); and Health and Social Services (6.5 per cent).<\/p>\n

\u201cEconomic activities such as accommodation, food service as well as arts and entertainment recorded a negative growth in 2020,\u201d he said. The Minister is set to present a national budget later on Thursday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
