Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has ordered the Ministry of Minerals to come up with a system which will enhance effective control and protection of tanzanite in the market.<\/p>\n

President Samia issued the order in Mwanza region on Sunday when she was launching Mwanza Precious Metals Refinery, worth 12.2bn\/-.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ministry should sit down with investors and come up with a system that will help protect our tanzanite,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The President also instructed the Ministry to make sure that all Tanzanite gemstones extracted in the country to purchased by one umbrella organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the tanzanite in the country’s market should be under one umbrella,\u201d she she insisted.<\/p>\n

She said that the umbrella will oversee the business of the Tanzanite to attract a high price for the country’s precious gem and market the country in the global arena.<\/p>\n

“There is a need for rebranding our Tanzanite to give it a deserved uniqueness,” the Head of State said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is only Tanzania where the Tanzanite is found . God has favoured Tanzania by giving us this valuable stones. Other minerals like diamonds and gold can also be found in other countries, but not Tanzanite which is found only in Tanzania,” she stressed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
