Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>ALL is now fine for Tanzanian basketball stars Amin Mkosa and Olyne Londo as their long wait for their new career with Malawian Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) League A challenge eventually ends today.<\/p>\n

Mkosa is set to offer his services at Bravehearts Men\u2019s team while Londo will be playing for Bravehearts Ladies side in the top flight Malawian league.<\/p>\n

The Malawian Cezobal League A that was cancelled last year, is scheduled to start today with the field of 14 men\u2019s and 10 ladies teams.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the \u2018Sunday News\u2019 from Malawi yesterday Mkosa said that everything is well and that they are in good health and happy to start the league.<\/p>\n

Mkosa and Londo landed professional stint to play for Malawian basketball giants, Bravehearts last year, but they were delayed to join them for several months after the league was halted due to global coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

He has completed all formalities and signed a three-year contract at the end of last year.<\/p>\n

Apart from landing a basketball deal, his club has also offered him a Marketing Degree\u2019s full scholarship while playing. \u201cWe are happy to play in Malawi League, it is a new challenge but it is normal for players, we hope to achieve much here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Mkosa the Bravehearts men are scheduled to take on Kamuzu Barracks challenge in the opening game. \u201cIt is one of the top teams, we are expecting a tough duel but we are well prepared to face it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Other men\u2019s teams competing are ABC Lions, Baseline Aces, Blazers, Bunda Buffaloes, Central Knights, Cougars, Disciples, and Dream Team, Mdzodzo, Mimbulu, Kamuzu Barracks, Them Pirates and Trojans.<\/p>\n

While in the women\u2019s League A Londo\u2019s team will have to do it in the hand of other nine teams including ABC Lady Lioness, Unilil Arkangels, Bunda Olivettes, Clippers, Destroyers Ladies, Lady Dynamites, NRC Lady Pythons, Katana ladies and Shockers.<\/p>\n

Mkosa the former Power of Uganda forward was lucky that his team allowed him to play in the country\u2019s league after securing international transfer clearance from Uganda last year.<\/p>\n

Mkosa\u2019s decision paid off after he helped Kurasini Heat of Dar es Salaam grab the National Basketball (NBL) and Dar RBA League titles, before letting them finish second in the just ended Taifa Cup playing for Temeke team of Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

His achievement with the team was very fruitful as after the end of the tournament he emerged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NBL.<\/p>\n

The Tanzanian inclusion is likely to bolster Bravehearts squad ahead of their Fiba Africa club championship next year. For three consecutive years, Bravehearts teams have emerged champions in the Cezobal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
