Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>ZANZIBAR Second Vice- President Hemed Suleiman Abdullah is expected to grace the 45th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) windup, today.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Mr Exaud Kigahe, stated this yesterday at the exhibitions, noting that the event will commence at 2pm.<\/p>\n

“During closing ceremony the guest of honour will also present awards to different winners of the exhibition,” said Kigahe.<\/p>\n

Mr Kigahe, therefore urged the public to visit the exhibition today, being the final day for this year\u2019s DITF, adding that among other benefits, they will acquire new knowledge on how to add value in their economic activities.<\/p>\n

Giving his assessment on this year\u2019s exhibitions, he said: \u201cIt has been a great success despite of the Covid-19 scare; I can say the number of countries participating has increased to 16 from only 6 recorded last year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elaborating, he pointed out that the number of participating foreign companies was 76 and individual exhibitors 3,002.<\/p>\n

During the exhibitions that started two weeks ago, the foreign companies displayed new technologies and used the opportunity to seek partnership with Tanzanian firms.<\/p>\n

In addition, he said, a total of 121 high profile individuals including government, religious, political leaders as well as ambassadors, visited the exhibitions to witness creativity by Tanzanian and foreign companies.<\/p>\n

Citing some of achievements, he said the 2021 DITF facilitated B2B meetings, launched a freight trailer, a logo, an Internet Centre among others.<\/p>\n

The successes were upon creativities shown by different institutions in collaboration with the Tanzania Business Development Authority (Tan- Trade).<\/p>\n

On her part, Temeke District Commissioner Jokate Mwegelo, said the exhibitions were peaceful and situation was generally calm with no reported major incidences.<\/p>\n

However, she encouraged the residents to turn out in large number today during the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n

“The government has done a great job because despite the Covid-19 scare and seen many people visiting the show, while observing health precautions against the disease,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Equally, she commended NBC Bank for sponsoring and TanTrade for well organising the trade fair and expressed hopes that next year\u2019s exhibitions will have more good things.<\/p>\n

TanTrade Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edwin Rutageruka, also said the 2021 DITF has recorded great successes, among others, attracting exhibitors from different sectors including mining, agriculture as well as petty traders.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
