Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) announced on Monday it has reduced contributions of private-sector employers from one percent of each employee\u2019s monthly income to 0.6 percent. The new rates are effective this month.<\/p>\n

WCF\u2019s Director-General, John Mduma told reporters in Dar es Salaam that the rates are subject to recently amendments of the governing legislation and the subsequent Government notes published by the Minister of State, P Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability) Jenista Mhagama.<\/p>\n

\u201cPublic Sector contribution will remain at 0.5 percent as per the Workers Compensation Act,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Since July 2015, all Tanzanian employers were required to submit a percentage of employee wages to the WCF. But, stakeholders opposed the arrangement saying the rates were a huge burden, especially to emerging bosses.<\/p>\n

WCF assured the beneficiaries that the new changes will not affect the schemes in providing service to the affected employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
