Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE government has applauded Global Education Link (GEL) for connecting thousands of Tanzanian students to study in abroad universities.<\/p>\n

This was said in Dar es Salaam by Zanzibar Chief Secretary Zena Said when visiting GEL pavilion during the ongoing universities exhibitions organised by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) at Mnazi Mmoja in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

The exhibitions involved different higher learning institutions including ten overseas universities — Chandigarh, Lovely Professional University (LPU), CT, Maharish Makandeshwar, Pandeet Deendayal Energy, Sharda, Rayat Bahra vya India and VN Karazan, Sum State of Ukraine, which came under the umbrella of GEL.<\/p>\n

The Chief Secretary said it is true that due to the shortage of different courses in the country, there is great a demand for students to search available opportunities in overseas universities for their higher learning education.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur universities cannot accommodate all students, so those who have qualifications must look for available opportunities outside the country. I commend you for connecting our students and arrangements for their studies, and also I appreciate that universities are ready to receive our students,\u201d said Chief Secretary Earlier, GEL Director, Abdulmalick Mollel told the CS that his company has been collaborating with overseas universities in connecting Tanzanian students, who wish to study in their universities including exchange programme.<\/p>\n

Mollel said some of overseas universities have promised to sign MoU of collaboration with local university and open up their campus after they have seen opportunities of the high demand of their courses.<\/p>\n

Mollel said the coming of the overseas universities is a great opportunity to local universities because they should look on how they can collaborate in education provision including exchange programs for their students.<\/p>\n

\u201cExample a student can study two years here in Tanzania and finish in India, Ukraine of wherever outside the country and student from India or Ukraine can study one or two years and come in Tanzania to complete his or her studies so Tanzanian universities should take this as great opportunity for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said it is opportunity for overseas universities also to look for high demand courses which are not available in our universities here in the country and open their campus to fill the gap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
