Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Mr Rogatus Hussein Mativila as Tanzania Roads Agency (TANROADS) Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications, Mr Mativila is replacing Engineer Patrick Mfugale who died on June 29 this year at Benjamini Mkapa hospital in Dodoma.<\/p>\n

The statement said before his appointment, Mr Mativila was serving as Director of Roads in the Ministry of Works and Transport.<\/p>\n

The late Mfugale passed away at the age of 71. In a distinguished public service career, spanning over 40 years, he climbed through the ladder from just a technician in the Ministry of Works to head TANROADS. The departed engineer took part in almost all major construction projects involving roads and bridges in the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, President Samia has also appointed Prof Yunus Mgaya as Tanzania Fisheries Corporation (Tafico) Board Chairman. The statement said Prof Mgaya is currently the Director General of the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Zanzibar President Dr Hussein Mwinyi has appointed former Executive Chairperson of the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS), Dr Fatma Mrisho as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Health, Social Welfare Elderly and Children.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by Zanzibar Chief Secretary Zena Said, Dr Mrisho is replacing Dr Omar Dadi Shajak who has been transferred to the First Vice President Office.<\/p>\n

The President also transferred Khadija Khamis Rajab, who was serving as Permanent Secretary in the First Vice President\u2019s Office, to the President\u2019s Office responsible for labour and investment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
