Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has launched a new product known as \u2018Bima ya Afya na Maisha\u2019 aimed at facilitating community inclusion in financial systems through insurance products.<\/p>\n

The product, under a partnership with Sanlam Life Insurance Tanzania, includes \u2018Afya Salama\u2019 health insurance specifically for family members as well as \u2018Nia Njema\u2019 health insurance which is tailored for members of various social groups and their families.<\/p>\n

The NBC Bank\u2019s Head of Insurance, Mr Benjamin Nkaka said in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the products were aimed at supporting the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring that health insurance service reaches every Tanzanian.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough the \u2018Nia Njema\u2019 Insurance, we aim to protect Tanzanians in various social and economic groups like VICOBA groups, SACCOS, employees, employees\u2019 groups, entrepreneurs, institutions, cooperatives, WhatsApp groups and other similar groups,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

He explained that the social groups are limited to a minimum of five members who can be relatives, neighbours or any other association while noting that the cost for annual membership is 18,000\/-.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe difference between this product and other insurance products is that this one covers all group members and their families at low cost, faster response and with social insurance expertise. These products are available in all regions of the country and insurance benefits are provided within 24 to 48 hours after submitting accurate information and attachments from group admins. Registration for these products is done through groups.\u2019\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

On \u2018Afya Salama\u2019 health Insurance Mr Nkaka said it will be used on more than 372 hospitals across the country including government and private hospitals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
