The immense opportunities created by public transport innovation have guaranteed youth reliable jobs and incomes as well as prompting others to quit their jobs and seize new opportunities. For example, Mr Fabian Shao decided to quit his job, take a car loan and employ himself as a driver on the Bolt App platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cI spent sleepless nights tossing, turning and trying to make a decision. Even my wife cautioned me against the move because she wasn\u2019t sure I\u2019d succeed. But two years later and here I am today\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

With the web transformation sweeping the globe, more and more entrepreneurial spirits like Shao are exploiting digital tools like the Bolt App to earn extra cash.<\/p>\n

More and more people are opting to hail a car, motorbike or a Bajaj from Tanzania\u2019s big cities, including Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha and Dodoma, using the Bolt ride-hailing app.<\/p>\n

A ride-hailing app in Tanzania, Bolt provides everyone with the opportunity to be a driver on their platform only if you have a suitable car to offer a ride-hailing service and relevant documents, one can today be a driver and start to earn a reliable income.<\/p>\n

This exciting reality has dawned on an increasing number of drivers signing up on the Bolt App, thus increasing the number of vehicles available for riders.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince signing up on Bolt, I have even been able to start a chicken tearing business that expands my revenue streams,\u201d Shao said, one of the many drivers who are grateful to Bolt for bringing more value to their lives.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cClear goals and commitment were the secrets for success. I\u2019ve repaid my car loan, opened a poultry business for my wife and ensured that my family\u2019s needs are well taken care of,\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, the key thing is the driver education that Bolt provides once you download the Bolt App on your mobile phone and sign in to be a driver. It enabled me to plan my time and focus on important tips to improve and grow my business,\u201d Shao said.<\/p>\n

According to Bolt Tanzania, Country Manager Remmy Eseka, Bolt makes use of innovative modern technology to assign drivers to customers adding to the transformative nature of the digital economy where drivers can make a living through their mobile phones. Furthermore, improving the transportation industry by making it possible for people to secure a ride from their smartphone from any location in the cities where we operate.<\/p>\n

\u201cBolt is committed to making transport fares more affordable for our riders. Therefore our pricing model is more affordable than most for both drivers and riders We are excited and optimistic to be at the centre of the digital transformation enhancing productivity and creating opportunities for economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been five years since Bolt launched its operations in Africa and has thus far grown its presence in over 70 African cities in at least seven countries.
