Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE government is planning to renovate the Kariakoo market in Dar es Salaam into an international market after the busy spot was nearly burnt to ashes two months ago.<\/p>\n

Chief Government Spokesperson, Gerson Msigwa said in Dodoma on Sunday, an implementation report will be submitted to the President, Samia Suluhu Hassan today (September 12).<\/p>\n

According to Msigwa, the new plan is to elevate the modern market into an international facility similar to any other world-class market that runs 24\/7.<\/p>\n

The 47-year-old Kariakoo Market was ravaged by a hungry inferno that broke out in the early hours of Saturday night and could be seen from miles away.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa formed a special investigation team that also submitted its report on July 25.<\/p>\n
