Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>WIFE of the Nigerian Vice- President, Dolapo Osinbajo, has urged the youth to acknowledge the effects of climate change in saving Mother Nature.<\/p>\n

Ms Osinbajo who toured the East Africa Impact Centre (ECHO), here in Arusha, insisted that the onus was on the youth in mitigating the effects of climate change in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important to take this responsibility seriously,\u201d emphasized Osinbajo, while addressing the youth at ECHO East Africa.<\/p>\n

The wife of the Nigerian Vice President also appreciated the work done by the young men and women attached to the basic training centrer in conserving the environment. \u201cI am so happy to see the young generation caring about the environment,\u201d she ex- plained.<\/p>\n

She equally commended the management of ECHO East Africa for the work they do in addressing invasive species. \u201cI have visited some of your webpages and I was awe- struck with what you\u2019re doing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

On his part, ECHO East Africa Director Erwin Kinsey thanked Ms Osinbajo for pay- ing them a courtesy call, saying the visit will reenergise their work in saving Mother Nature. \u201c<\/p>\n

We are honored by the visit and makes us very proud,\u201d he added. ECHO East Africa was established to support world\u2019s fastest-growing populations and fight food scarcity they face on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

It also works as a training centre giving technical assis- tance to help organisations and community development workers to work more effectively to reduce hunger.<\/p>\n

Among other things, the centre focuses on research and development of local agri- cultural practices, specialised agricultural training to equip agencies serving in East Africa and resources to help schools, orphanages and health clinics improve nutrition through gar- dening projects.<\/p>\n

It also houses a seed bank and tree nursery to meet indigenous needs. Apart from visiting the center, Ms Osinbajo accompanied by her husband Yemi Osinbajo also toured the Arusha National Park for a weekend gateways<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
