Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has instructed District Commissioners (DCs) across the country to effectively ensure value for money in all projects being implemented in their areas of jurisdiction.<\/p>\n

Equally, he warned members of the civil service to refrain from corrupt practices, and instead they should focus on delivering tangible results from their dockets.<\/p>\n

He made the statements on different occasions in Kibondo and Kasulu districts of Kigoma during his working tour to inspect development projects being implemented in the region.<\/p>\n

Addressing residents of Kasulu District shortly after laying a foundation stone for construction of a 2.4bn\/- water project in Kifura village, Mr Majaliwa said the government has been spending a lot of money on importing accessibility of social services to the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Samia has been spending a lot of money on implementation of development projects, therefore it\u2019s the responsibility of all civil servants to monitor all the spending,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Moreover, he asked the DCs to ensure that all the projects are value for money as per the approved budget.<\/p>\n

He said President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been approving a lot of money for implementation of development projects that include water, education and construction of road infrastructures.<\/p>\n

\u201cEffective implementation of the projects would help to improve service delivery to the people,\u201d said Mr Majaliwa, asking members of the civil service to continue putting forward national interest and supervise expenditure of public funds channeled for development projects.<\/p>\n

According to him, President Samia is determined to see full implementation of all development projects across the country in a bid to improve service delivery, noting that it was the responsibility of all civil servants to ensure all the plans are executed accordingly.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur President is eager to improve the economy at individual and national level, that is why we started with construction of infrastructure projects that enables Tanzanians to engage in various economic activities,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The Premier equally asked civil servants to keep encouraging Tanzanians to continue working hard for the sake of increasing productivity.<\/p>\n

All Tanzanians should work hard and ensure massive production in their sectors, farmers should increase production, same as businessmen and those in the manufacturing industries,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Moreover, he called on improved efforts to increase revenue collections in the Local Government Authorities (LGAs) for effective implementation of projects that are beneficial to members of the public.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Kigoma Regional Manager for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (Ruwasa), Mathius Mwenda said the project worth 2.4bn\/- is set to be completed in February next year.<\/p>\n
