Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made swift changes of the management at the State owned Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) after appointing new board chairman and the managing director.<\/p>\n

A statement issued on Saturday evening said President Samia has appointed Mr Omary Issa to chair the board of directors of Tanesco.<\/p>\n

Prior to his new role, the statement said, the appointee is the former Chief Executive at President’s Delivery Bureau (PDB).<\/p>\n

The Head of State has also appointed Maharage Chande as the Managing Director of TANESCO, replacing Tito Mwinuka.<\/p>\n

Prior to his appointment Chande was the Multichoice Africa’s Executive Director who was representing the multinational company in of the East African and West Africa zones.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, President Samia similarly appointed Michael Minja as the new Commissioner of Petrol and Gas in the Ministry of Energy.<\/p>\n

Prior to his new role, Minja was the Director General of TIPPER.<\/p>\n

She has also appointed Felschemi Mramba as the new Commissioner of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Hassan Seif Said as the Director General of Rural Energy Agency (REA).<\/p>\n

Before their appointments, Mramba was the Chief Technical Advisor at the TANESCO Training School and Hassan Said was the Senior Zone Manager of the Tanesco Eastern Zone.<\/p>\n

While the appointment of the appointees has been effective since 23rd of September this year<\/p>\n

On the other development, Chief Secretary Ambassador Hussein Kattanga has transferred five senior employees at TANESCO to the President\u2019s Office responsible for Public Service Management and Good Governance.<\/p>\n

The transferred officials have been named as Eng Khalid James (Deputy Executive Director- investment), Eng Raymond Seya (Deputy Executive of Distribution and Marketing), Eng Isaac Chanje (Deputy Executive Director-transmission), Nyelu Mwamaja (Head of Procurement Unit (Amos Ndegi).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
