Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Tour operators will from Friday this week be obliged to use the online platform to apply for campsites available in protected areas.<\/p>\n

The move seeks to improve campsite booking operations and eventually enhance customer services, the Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) announced here on Monday.<\/p>\n

In an undersigned statement by the conservation agency\u2019s Senior Assistant Conservation commissioner in charge of Corporate Communications Pascal Shelutete, TANAPA revealed that all special and public campsites will now be available online.<\/p>\n

This would mean that tour operators will now be compelled to book the campsites on the internet, before accessing the 22 national parks managed by the conservation agency in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing these improvements, all tourism operators intending to use campsites in the respective national parks shall be required to book for the available campsites and confirm by making full payment for the number of bed nights,\u201d read part of the statement.<\/p>\n

TANAPA however cautioned that the system was subject to reviews in the event of any changes.<\/p>\n

It further warned that booking request that will be submitted by email or physical letters will not be accepted.<\/p>\n

Camping site is a designated area where tourists can camp overnight. These areas are designated based on the current General Management Plan of each respective park.<\/p>\n

TANAPA manages different kinds of campsites namely; public, special, seasonal and flying camps.<\/p>\n

The Tanganyika National Parks Ordinance CAP (412) of 1959 established the organization now known as Tanzania TANAPA, with the Serengeti becoming the country\u2019s first national park.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
