Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE Vice-President Dr Philip Mpango has instructed Tanzanian ambassadors who have been assigned to represent the country in foreign missions to work diligently, putting forward the national interest.<\/p>\n

The envoys have also been tasked to enhance the bilateral ties that Tanzania has with their new work stations by ensuring the country\u2019s economic diplomacy policy brings positive results.<\/p>\n

Dr Mpango made the statements yesterday when bidding farewell to seven diplomats, who paid him a visit at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma.<\/p>\n

The envoys with their new work stations in brackets are Lut Gen Yakub Mohamed (Turkey), Maj Gen Richard Makanzo (Rwanda) and Mr Togolani Mavura (South Korea).<\/p>\n

Others are Ms Grace Martin (Sweden), Ms Hoyce Temu (Switzerland), Ms Anisa Mbega (India) and Mr Innocent Shio (Ethiopia).<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to learn what is being done there and transfer the knowledge to Tanzania for the sake of improving the economy of our country,\u201d Dr Mpango was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the Communications Department of the Vice- President\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

He also tasked the diplomats to explore opportunities in their new work stations, as well as marketing the potentials available in Tanzania, s9o as to attact more investors to Tanzania.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are countries that have made a huge step in the tourism sector; you have to learn from them as well as marketing the available attractive sites. This will play a huge role in increasing a number of foreign tourists into the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Moreover, he asked them to establish and enhance trade relations as well as look for a market for all goods and products that are available in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of other envoys, Amb Mohamed assured the Vice- President that they are going to work according to the government\u2019s directives and that national interest will remain their top priority.<\/p>\n

In attendance at the talks also were the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Amb Mbarouk Mbarouk and ministry\u2019s Permanent Secretary Amb Joseph Sokoine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
