Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>SHORTLY after President Samia Suluhu’s Royal Tour documentary, Tanzania is hosting another major film-making project in the Northern Circuit.<\/p>\n

The Award Winning Ghanaian movie star, John Dumelo is in Tanzania, shooting a new feature film against the country\u2019s iconic tourist destinations\u2019 background. Other than making his latest film here, Actor Dumelo said he actually enjoyed the scenic beauty and wildlife tourism buffet offered by the two Northern Tanzania\u2019s travel destinations of Serengeti and Ngorongoro.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my second time in Tanzania, but the country never ceases to amaze me, I certainly must return for an extended tour,\u201d said the Ghanaian actor who has been featured in nearly 60 films, including \u2018A Northern Affair,\u2019 \u2018Private Storm,\u2019 and \u2018Tales of Nazir!\u2019 Dumelo won the \u2018African Most outstanding Actor,\u2019 award at the Afro Australian Movies and Music Awards; as well as \u2018Best West African Actor,\u2019 at the 2017 Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou.<\/p>\n

He is now taking part in this Tanzanian set film to be known as \u2018Mulasi the Death,\u2019 which is expected to premiere early next year. Involving other local actors, the film is being directed by Honeymoon Aljabri, a Tanzanian Writer, Actor and Film Producer based in the United States. She revealed that \u2018Mulasi\u2019 means \u2018Friend\u2019 in the Wagogo language of Dodoma.<\/p>\n

How \u2018Mulasi\u2019 the \u2018Friend\u2019 could again turn out to be \u2018death\u2019 is something which should remain to be seen when the movie comes out next year. But for a non-spoiler synopsis, \u2018Mulasi the Death\u2019 is a story of four young ladies travelling from central Tanzania (Dodoma), to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, in a trip made to act as consolation therapy for their depressed friend. \u201cThe film is themed around the notion of \u2018It is Okay not to be Okay!\u2019\u201d said Honeymoon Aljabri.<\/p>\n

And Aljabri seems to be obsessed with the National Park, because last year, the producer authored the paperback, \u2018Amani Wanders in Serengeti,\u2019 a book which would become a favourite read among children.<\/p>\n

Ground handling and logistics behind the \u2018Mulasi the Death\u2019 film production in Ngorongoro and Serengeti, is being undertaken by Mauly Tours, whose director, Mozzah Mauly believes the movie will help market Tanzania as ultimate destination for Africa\u2019s tourism.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
