Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy Minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Mwanaidi Ali Khamis, has called for continued capacity building trainings to community groups which receive loans issued by local government authorities to enable them make productive investment.<\/p>\n

She made the statement when handing over 215m\/- loan to 32 community groups in Rungwe District, saying if trained well the groups will ensure the money is invested properly to benefit them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should not hesitate to issue loans to people who volunteer to join such groups so that they can achieve their goals and hence empower themselves economically,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Mwanaidi hailed Rungwe district for administering funds which led to availability of the loans which allow wananchi to empower themselves economically.<\/p>\n

For his part, Rungwe District Council official, Renatus Mchau said 60m\/- was from the district\u2019s own fund while 155 was refund from the loans.<\/p>\n

Mchau added that the district council in collaboration with other stakeholders have been working on conducting training to the groups so that the money can be well managed.<\/p>\n

He said in the coming quarter of the year, groups which will be given priority are those which will have tangible projects and are able to employ others.<\/p>\n

For their part, some of the groups which received the loans hailed the government for improving their livelihoods through the loans which they said has increased their capital, hence improved their businesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur group has dairy cows, we are producing milk and we have received a loan amounting to 22m\/-, which we expect will allow us to employ more people as we are going to start processing milk,\u201d said one of the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
