{"id":38633,"date":"2021-10-13T16:25:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-13T16:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/?p=38633"},"modified":"2021-10-13T14:44:12","modified_gmt":"2021-10-13T14:44:12","slug":"govt-capitalizes-on-dubai-expo-to-attract-investors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/govt-capitalizes-on-dubai-expo-to-attract-investors","title":{"rendered":"Govt capitalizes on Dubai Expo to attract investors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\">Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>TRADE and Industry Minister, Prof Kitila Mkumbo, said the country will showcase its mega infrastructure projects at the Dubai Expo 2020 to lure foreign investors.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to reporters here over the weekend, Prof Mkumbo said the country will participate in the six-month exhibition and will trade under the theme \u201cConnectivity, Tanzania Ready for Take Off\u201d by displaying strategic projects.<\/p>\n<p>He mentioned some of the key projects set for display as construction work of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), Julius Nyerere Hydro Power Project, expansion of Dar es Salaam Port, aviation industry and airports infrastructures development.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister said the projects are stimulator to investment and business environment, especially in agriculture and industry sectors.<\/p>\n<p>He said that they deliberately decided to participate under the mobility category to lure investors to the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have opted to participate through the mobility category under our national theme \u2018Connectivity, Tanzania ready for takeoff\u2019 to attract new investments by showcasing ongoing mega projects\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Dubai Expo exhibition, organized by Bureau of International Expositions and being hosted by the government of United Arab Emirates, also involves two different categories of opportunity and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 600 participants from the country\u2019s public and private sector will take part in the expo that brings together 207,600 participants from 191 countries from across the world.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 16 delegations will visit the expo from Tanzania between this month and March 31 next year.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s pavilion will be divided into four zones, namely fly which portrays cities, shores, mountains and natural resources found in Tanzania. The second zone is named walk and shows museums and historical sites, the Kilwa mosque, former leaders\u2019 history and the freedom fighter monument.<\/p>\n<p>At the ride zone, there will be visual national parks and lakes while the forth zone named drive will showcase different samples of agricultural products and the ongoing mega projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the Dubai Expo, we will have a special day to showcase what we intend the world to see,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the subject, TanTrade Director General, Latifa Khamis said about 700m\/- has been used in preparation for Tanzania to participate in the expo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom our preparations and how we have organized ourselves, we are expecting to attract at least 80 percent of participants to come and explore investment opportunities in Tanzania,\u201d Khamis said.<\/p>\n<p>Ends<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania.
