Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE Tanzania Union of Government and Heath Employees (TUGHE) has commended the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA) for embracing transparency and inclusion in the workplace.<\/p>\n

The association\u2019s Secretary-General, Hery Mkunda, made the applause during the Pura\u2019s workers council meeting held in Morogoro over the weekend.<\/p>\n

His statement was echoed by TUGHE\u2019s Secretary for Dar es Salaam, Ms Sara Rwezaula.<\/p>\n

The meeting aimed at evaluating the authority\u2019s performance in the financial year 2020\/2021 and the performance for the first quarter of the financial year 2021\/2022.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Mkunda, who is also a member of PURA Workers\u2019 Council stated that, the involvement of staff members in evaluating the performance of the authority was crucial and that inclusive evaluation could contribute to enhanced organizational performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay I use this opportunity to congratulate PURA for organizing this important meeting. It is my earnest hope that the PURA staff will take advantage of the meeting to thoroughly discuss and carefully assess the Authority\u2019s performance trend, identify areas that the authority did well, areas where improvement is required and provide constructive advice on what can be done to enhance organization performance\u201d stressed Mr Mkunda.<\/p>\n

On her part, Ms Rwezaula hinted that PURA has done a commendable thing worth emulating since not many organizations have the culture of engaging staff members in performance evaluation.<\/p>\n

In addition, Ms Rwezaula heartily congratulated PURA for upholding tenets of good governance which include transparency and inclusion.<\/p>\n

PURA Workers\u2019 Council comprises of 34 members obtained by regulations that guide the formulation of workers councils in the workplaces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
