Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>TWIGA Stars Head Coach Bakari Shime has called on his charges to get back to their usual rhythm prior to the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) reverse leg versus Namibia in South Africa tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s envoys have an uphill task to progress into the next phase of the qualifiers after losing 2-1 in the first leg duel at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

However, they have another 90 minutes to prove their abilities as they have a good record of playing and do well in away competitive games just like what they did recently after clinching the 2021 COSAFA Women\u2019s Championship in South Africa.<\/p>\n

At a post-match briefing, Shime reiterated that his team has what it takes to stamp convincing results at the away venue against Namibia only if the players will regain their usual formula of playing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first thing now is for us to get back to our usual format of play and in terms of potential, I believe that we are capable to turn things around in the next match,\u201d said Shime.<\/p>\n

He also elaborated that a workable game plan that their opponents came with was also the reason which made them to lose the match on the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cFatigue, injuries and the celebration mood after winning the COSAFA title made us to delay in coming up for today\u2019s (Wednesday) match,\u201d said him.<\/p>\n

On his part, Namibia coach Woody Jacobs was full of praise to his players for a good job well done against what he termed as one of the strong women teams on the continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis victory is very special to us because it was a team effort as we gave it all against a very good opponent. We are just happy to beat the COSAFA champions. \u201cOnce again, I congratulate my girls for the manner in which they fought, they believed and the two goals scored by Zenatha Coleman brought in different dimension to our team,\u201d he narrated.<\/p>\n

On her part, Coleman who scored a brace on the day lauded Twiga Stars that they are among the best teams on the continent while insisting that they will work hard to register another win in the return match.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe good thing is that we have managed to get the results we highly wanted even though fatigue affected us especially in the second half of the game,\u201d Coleman who plays professional football in Spain said.<\/p>\n

She was really the game changer throughout the tense encounter by encouraging her teammates to work hard whenever they seemed to be under pressure.<\/p>\n
