Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>A CURRICULUM developer with the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), Joyce Chamuhuo, has urged parents and guardians to guide their children in using the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for advancing their academic performance and avoid unwanted materials from it.<\/p>\n

Ms Chamuhuo made the plea over the weekend when speaking during the 19th St Anne Marie Academy nursery school graduation ceremony. She said students have good opportunity to learn computer skills and use it efficiently to raise their academic performances if they are guided well by teachers, parents and their guardians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proceeding with strategies to make sure all students are able to use ICT for searching for different materials for their academic achievement, we also want teachers to use it as teaching tool. For instance teachers can use cartoon programme as a method to teach children in different lessons,\u201d she said She said TIE was also preparing radio programs that would be useful in teaching students while at home, a strategy that would help curbing the shortage of teachers.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Director of the school, Dr Jasson Rweikiza said his school\u2019s vision was to ensure that it excels in standard seven national examinations.<\/p>\n

He was optimistic that the schools can achieve its goal considering its past performance whereby it has been emerging in the list of top ten schools in Dar es Salaam region.<\/p>\n
