Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>AS countries across the globe take different measures to tackle unemployment, the Zanzibar government says it has been strengthening relations between stakeholders in job creation and \u2018Public Private Partnership (PPP), to increase employment opportunities.<\/p>\n

Zanzibar State Minister, President\u2019s Office (Labour, Economy, and Investment) Mr Mudrik Ramadhan Soraga said that the government has been working with local and foreign stakeholders to create jobs.<\/p>\n

At a meeting with the delegation from the \u2018Economic growth department\u2019 of the USAID and the management of its \u2018Feed the Future project\u2019 Mr Soraga said that there are still ample opportunities for jobs in agriculture, tourism, business management, health, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us continue working closely as the best way to achieve our development goals,\u201d Mr Soraga said at the meeting held at his office, Mwanakwerekwe Street, Unguja West \u2018B\u2019 district where he also reminded youths not to remain Idle by being innovative and creative.<\/p>\n

The Minister commended the private sector and development partners for supporting the government’s plan to achieve its goal of creating 300,000 jobs for young people to lift them out of poverty as well as boost development in the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Suleiman Ali Haji, director of the \u2018Economic Empowerment Fund,said there is a need for the strengthening of PPP for the development of and empowering entrepreneurs so that more young people are attracted into entrepreneurship as a one of the solutions to unemployment.<\/p>\n

Officers from the USAID\/Feed the future project include Ms Joyce Mndambi, Mr Mustafa Sharif and Mr Adam Gahu who delivered a good message to the Minister about partnership with Amana Bank to avail USD 10 Million to empower youth and women in the country.<\/p>\n
