Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>YOUNG Africans Hecasing a breathtaking performance against Azam over the weekend. The Jangwani Street giants produced a deserved 2-0 win over the Chamazi based outfits at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam to create a two point gap at the summit of the table with 12 points.<\/p>\n

Two imports from Democratic Republic of Congo; Fiston Mayele and Jesus Moloko scored in each half to flatten their city’s rivals and in the process continue to clear their own path in the ongoing NBC Premier League.<\/p>\n

However, leaving the victory aside, much of the talkings from pundits, Yanga played well against the seemingly torn apart Azam in all 90 minutes of the heavyweight match.<\/p>\n

Up next, Yanga will host Ruvu Shooting at the same venue tomorrow while Azam will be at their Azam Complex base entertaining Geita Gold before the league pauses to pave a way for FIFA international break to run from November 8th to 16th.<\/p>\n

At a post- match press meeting, Nabi said until now, his side has reached just half of the level he pledged and is yet to hit the 100 mark he is targeting.<\/p>\n

“Despite the good results we are getting, our target of reaching the highest level of playing is not accomplished. We still have many things to solve in order to make Yanga a real threat to opponents,” Nabi said.<\/p>\n

He also lauded GSM for managing to sign players he wanted into the team plus hailing the team’s fitness trainer saying he has done a great job to improve fitness levels of players saying even after the game, they could have been able to play for additional 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Again, the Tunisian trainer pointed out that they thoroughly scrutinised strengths and weaknesses of their opponents a thing he said helped them a lot to emerge victors of the tense match.<\/p>\n

“We have defeated Azam not because they are a bad side but rather due to the fact that we did our homework well before facing them. Azam is a big team with quality players,” said him.<\/p>\n

On his part, Azam Assistant Coach Vivier Bahati poured praises on Yanga saying they were a better team on the day such that anything they wanted to do during the game worked rightly for them.<\/p>\n

“Let me acknowledge Yanga for the way they played today (Saturday) and nobody can deny that. For us, it seemed we were not into the game as such, we have lost but we need to wake up to do it right in upcoming fixtures. “If you look, the three matches we have played against Coastal Union, Polisi Tanzania and Namungo you cannot compare them with Yanga game because they were much better than the past three duels,” Bahati said.<\/p>\n

He then rebuffed claims that if the team’s veteran players like Mudathir Yahya and Aggrey Morris who are facing suspension were present on the day, they could have helped their team to escape the loss.<\/p>\n

“With the way the game unfolded, am sure that nobody could have saved us hence for those who missed the match, there is no guarantee that their presence could have changed something,” said him.<\/p>\n
