Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba is expected to officiate the Tanganyika Farmers Association (TFA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mbeya tommorow whereby new product determined to subsidize the costs of fertilizer to an affordable rate will be introduced.<\/p>\n

The annual meeting will bring together farmers and stakeholders from all over the country to review the association annual activities since September 7th, this year.<\/p>\n

According to the association\u2019s Managing Director Justine Shirima, the meeting expected to be graced by the Finance Minister, will have an outlook on the major steps bringing together huge agricultural revolution in fertilizer and soil value management which in turn will definitely increase farmers\u2019 yield and boost their income.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope to that we can link our farmers with multinational companies which have a long experience in serving farmers with high levels of professionalism and providing quality products. This includes companies and partners from USA, Brazil, India, China and Europe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The TFA boss added that event will be an avenue to share knowledge and experience to the farming community in Tanzania and in Africa as she insists: \u201cWe expect to forge strong partnership for the development of our Tanzania Agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shirima said TFA was dedicated to improve farming practices in Tanzania by using its long experience and network of distribution of over 17 TFA branches which covers Northern, Central, Southern and Coastal areas of Tanzania. On the other side, the association is expected to introduce new product to subsidize the costs of fertilizer at very affordable rate \u201cTFA FAHARI\u201d which is soil micronutrients and perfect super fertilizer.<\/p>\n

In connection to that we recently launched a program to analyse soil PH levels to enable farmers to reduce usage of industrial fertilizer and stimulate soil fertilizer using natural means.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, TFA, are committed to reach the whole country in supporting the Ministry of Agriculture and the government of her excellence President Samia Suluhu Hassan with the efforts of empowering the farmers so that they can attain maximum profit and have sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur dream is to see Tanzania\u2019s doing modern agriculture, increasing employment, increase farm products traded in and out of the country,” he said.<\/p>\n

TFA has been one of the major stakeholders and most effective players within the agricultural sector in Tanzania since it commenced operations in Tanganyika, in 1935.<\/p>\n

The association has more than 4,800 members representing a cross-section of the Tanzanian farming community.<\/p>\n
