In 2016, Tanzania and the Comoros signed more than 20 agreements in sectors ranging from economy to science and technology aimed at fostering bilateral rela- tionship and investment development between the two countries.

The agreements fo- cused on tourism, agricul- ture, gas, minerals, insurance, trade and business, banking and loans, health, railway and manufactur- ing, and marine fishery.

The signing of the agreements by respective ministers were witnessed by the visiting King Mo- hammed VI of Morocco and the late President John Magufuli at the State House in Dar es Salaam.

In April, 2015, Tanza- nia and the Comoros held the first Trade Summit, aimed at promoting trade initiatives to improve business environment, formalise trade and strength- en economic ties between the two countries.

The 2015 Trade Sum- mit gathered political leaders and businessmen from both countries to discuss business and investment opportunities in Tanzania and the Comoros.

Traditionally, Tanzania enjoys close ties with Comoros in terms of prox- imity of the countries, resemblance of culture and language. In 2019, Tanzania exports to Comoros were estimated at 2.54m US dollars.

The main products that Tanzania exported to Comoros are flavoured water, sheep and goats, and mattresses.

During the last 24 years the exports of Tanzania to Comoros increased at an annualised rate of 13.5 per cent, from 122,000 US dollars in 1995 to 2.54m US dollars in 2019.

For More News And Analysis About Tanzania Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Tanzania.
