Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>AT least 15 women-led enterprises have been selected to take part in a one and half year specialized training to equip them with skills for the growth of their firms.<\/p>\n

The training that will kick off next Monday is implemented under the \u2018Waendeleze\u2019 project being implemented by two local firms Lindam Group Company and Match Makers.<\/p>\n

The project is supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in partnership with an international company Crosswise Works.<\/p>\n

Addressing a press conference yesterday, the managing director of Lindam Group Company Zuhura Muro said the project intends to support promising established businesses-scale-ups that similarly face constraints and hurdles but require specialized support and networks to reach their potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe objective is to provide a training program that will therefore receive technical expertise, business skills training as much as coaching and personal development support,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

According to her, the program will also link participants to the Dutch market and the possibility to establish business partnership to access the international market.<\/p>\n

A project consultant Christian Mpalanzi said the programme was initiated as part of efforts to support enterprises run by women to grow, improve productivity and create job opportunities for others.<\/p>\n

During the training, the participants will also be connected to the relevant regulatory authorities such as Tanzania Bureau of Standard (TBS), Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) as well as Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA).<\/p>\n

They will also be linked to other players such as Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF), Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) and other policy makers.<\/p>\n

Adding, \u201cThe aim is to ensure the selected businesses are empowered and connected to continue on their own\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 15 companies have been selected from 173 enterprises; a list has GBRI business solutions, Halisi Products limited, Profate Investment limited, Seasoning Palet and Swedtan limited.<\/p>\n

Others are Three Sisters, Deka foods, AKM Glitters Company limited, Mama Seki Groups Company Limited, Homeland farms, Pimma general enterprises, Esterina Julio Kilasi, Tausi Coffee, General Supply Company Limited and Medfood Arusha Company limited.<\/p>\n
