Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) announced that Tanzania has enough fuel reserves to sustain the country for a good number of days.<\/p>\n

The authorities gave the assurance on Friday after a local newspaper published a report that the country had only a 15-day fuel reserve.<\/p>\n

Through its Twitter handle, EWURA said that available petrol reserves can sustain the country for 34 days, diesel 24 days and kerosene 84 days.<\/p>\n

\u201cShips are continuing unloading fuel at the port and this assures us of enough oil in the country,\u201d Ewura said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the authority retweeted a Minister Energy January Makamba\u2019s tweet which stated that; until Friday morning, the country had a reserve of 100,345,631 litres of fuel.<\/p>\n

Mr Makamba, further, tweeted that James Cook ship was unloading 22,493,188 litres while JAG PUNIT cargo ship, carrying 30,579,019 litters was on the way to Dar es Salaam Port, \u201ca move that will enable the country to have a reserved of about 34 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no reason for causing panic; there is no fuel shortage in the country. The government is continuing to take all necessary measures to ensure the accessibility and affordability of the fuel,\u201d Mr Makamba insisted.<\/p>\n
