Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Stanbic Bank Tanzania has donated 21 oxygen tanks worth approximately 15m\/- to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in its efforts to support the health sector in the country.<\/p>\n

Stanbic\u2019s Head of Risk, Mr Wilmot Ishengoma, handed over the oxygen tanks to the Kilimanjaro Regional Medical Officer, Dr Credianus Mgimba, who represented the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner at a hand over ceremony, held at the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cMedical oxygen is critical to our health and we are honoured to offer our support in making it available so that lives can be saved\u201d, said Mr Ishengoma.<\/p>\n

The KCMC acting Executive Director, Dr Stephen Kolimba said the lender donation will reduce the deficit of the much needed gas cylinders at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The handover of 21 oxygen tanks to KCMC, follows a donation of seven oxygen tanks to Bugando Referral Hospital in Mwanza last month.<\/p>\n

In Mwanza, the handover of the donation was done by Stanbic\u2019s Head of Technology and Operations, Mr Mussa Ally, and received by the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Eng Robert Gabriel.<\/p>\n

To-date, Stanbic has contributed over 1.0bn\/- as part of its Corporate Social Investment, mainly in health and education sectors.<\/p>\n
