Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>MINISTER in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (Parliament, Policy Coordination, Labor and Employment, Youth and Disabled), Jenista Mhagama, has reminded employers to stop looking at workers\u2019 associations as enemies but rather partners in creating better working condition.<\/p>\n

The minister further argued that friendly relations between employers and workers enhance efficiency at workplaces.<\/p>\n

Ms Mhagama stated this yesterday in Dar es Salaam when officiating the signing of a contract for improving work condition between Sisal Association of Tanzania (SAT) and Tanzania Plantation Agriculture Workers Union(TPAWU).<\/p>\n

During the signing ceremony, the SAT was represented by the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE).<\/p>\n

She commended the ATE on behalf of the SAT and the TPAWU for managing to discuss and come up with such an agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis contract develops better relations between employers and employees in the sisal industry which would consequently bring more efficiency among employees in order to build their companies and the nation at large,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said that evidence has proven that there were benefits when employers and employees sit together and friendly discuss their issues.<\/p>\n

Executive Director of the ATE, Ms Suzanne Ndomba-Doran said the signed agreement was crucial for both parts, saying the signing of the contract involved both parts in deciding to put in place an enabling environment in the workplaces.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ATE recognize that the achievements of employers rely on effective employees who work confidently and whose interests are well taken care of,\u201d she said, adding that the signed contract will make employees work hard.<\/p>\n

The leaders of the SAT and TPAWU unanimously thanked the ATE and the government for enabling such historic event, calling upon other associations in the productive sector to sign such contract for the betterment of the workplaces.<\/p>\n
