Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>YOUNG Africans stamped 560-minute unbeaten run, but dropped two vital points after a 1-1 draw with Namungo at Ilulu Stadium in Lindi on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The tense sixth round match also handed Yanga their first draw as they have won their five matches prior to Saturday\u2019s clash.<\/p>\n

Still Yanga claimed they played far below their usual level as the team\u2019s Head Coach, Nasredine Nabi pointed out during the post-match press briefing. The coach blamed the poor pitch for his team\u2019s failure to stamp good results in Lindi.<\/p>\n

An expertly taken spot kick by Burundian international Saido Ntibazonkiza saved Yanga from a defeat to Namungo.<\/p>\n

The draw made Namungo maintain their record as the team that has never lost to Yanga since their promotion to the top flight league two seasons ago.<\/p>\n

Namungo showed a determination since the early stages of the game, launching series of raids through their strikers Shiza Kichuya, Reliant Lusajo and Jacob Masawe, most often causing a lot of problems to Yanga\u2019s defence.<\/p>\n

Yanga, who missed the services of their midfield talisman Khalid Aucho, struggled at the back with Yanick Bangala and Mukoko Tonombe failing to control; the middle of the terrain in most parts of the game.<\/p>\n

In the 19th minute, Namungo came close to score the opener but Shiza Kichuya\u2019s shot hit cross bar.<\/p>\n

In the 21st minute, Reliant Lusajo shot was saved by Yanga\u2019s goalie Djigui Diarra and Kichuya chipped in a rebound, but once again the Malian international saved it.<\/p>\n

In the 33rd minute Yanga reacted with Jesus Moloko running with ball to the flank, but his cross was saved by Namungo\u2019s defence and in the 35th minute Farid Mussa exchanged well with Fiston Mayele, but the Congolese striker shot above the Namungo goal.<\/p>\n

Namungo\u2019s play maker Lucas Kikoti\u2019s shot went just above the cross bar and in the 38th minute Kichuya\u2019s corner was cleared by Yanga\u2019s skipper Bakari Mwamnyeto.<\/p>\n

Farid Mussa fired a freekick in the 41st minute that ended right in the waiting hands of Namungo goalkeeper Jonathan Nahimana.<\/p>\n

In the 48th minute, Djuma Shaaban of Yanga was shown a yellow card for shouting against match official\u2019s decision against his side.<\/p>\n

Former Yanga and Azam striker, Obrey Chirwa put Namungo ahead in the 52nd minute with a nice goal after he tricked Yanga\u2019s defender Dickson Job to fire past Djigui Diarra.<\/p>\n

The goal forced Yanga tactician Nasreddine Nabi to make substitutions in the 60th minute by bringing in Saido Ntibazonkiza in the place of Mukoko Tonombe, Deus Kaseke for Jesus Moloko and Yusuph Athuman for Farid Mussa.<\/p>\n

Coach Nabi also brought in David Bryson in the place of Kibwana Shomari and Heritier Makambo replaced Fiston Mayele.<\/p>\n

In the 81st minute Yanga were awarded a penalty after midfielder Feisal Salum was brought down inside the box.<\/p>\n

Namungo players complained and forced the match referee to slap a red card to their player Khalifa Nyenye. Ntibazonkiza then expertly scored the penalty kick.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mbeya City claimed their first hefty victory yesterday after handing Mtibwa Sugar a 3-1 blitz in a one-sided Premier League game at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.<\/p>\n

The victory has heightened Mbeya City to the third position in the league standings with 10 points while it lowered Mtibwa Sugar to the bottom of the table with 2 points.<\/p>\n

Yanga are still placed at the helm of the league table with 16 points despite drawing with Namungo.<\/p>\n

At Kaitaba Stadium in Bukoba, debutants Geita Gold claimed their first Premier League victory in their 2-1 win over hosts Kagera Sugar.<\/p>\n

Geita Gold have now moved up to the 13th position having raked 5 points. They have won once, drew twice and lost thrice.<\/p>\n
