Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>THE government has invited companies in the energy sector to participate in the fourth edition of the Tanzania Energy Congress to be held in Dar es Salaam in August next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to actively encourage all companies involved in the energy sectors in Tanzania or those seeking opportunities within it to attend and participate in this crucial industry event and I look forward to personally welcoming you to Dar es Salaam in August 2022,\u201d said the Energy Minister January Makamba recently at a meeting that took place in Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).<\/p>\n

At the event, the organisers DMG Events along with their strategic Tanzanian partners Ocean Business Partners Tanzania reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate on the fourth edition of the Tanzania Energy Congress to be hosted in Dar es Salaam 3 to 4 August 2022.<\/p>\n

The congress that will held under the patronage of Energy Minister Mr Makamba will highlight the plans and priorities of the Ministry of Energy with regards to the next strategic steps in both the energy and hydrocarbons sector in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Mr Makamba said in a statement to the organisers that the congress will act as a forum for both national and international business leaders, investors and new contractors to network and exchange ideas with the ultimate aim of developing and identifying new opportunities which will exist within the energy sector of Tanzania.<\/p>\n

On his part, the Director of Ocean Business Partners Tanzania, Mr Abdulsamad Abdulrahim said \u201cThe event could not come at a more critical time for us Tanzanians,\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cWe have been waiting patiently on the side lines to establish and develop a national energy industry for the local economy, for local capacity building and for the benefit of Tanzania,\u201d<\/p>\n

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made an effort to create a more conducive business environment is bullish about the government\u2019s LNG aspirations, with negotiations continuing between the government, Shell and Equinor about a Host Government Agreement (HGA) for a 30 billion US dollars liquefied natural gas (LNG) project.<\/p>\n
