{"id":41487,"date":"2021-11-22T16:08:22","date_gmt":"2021-11-22T16:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/?p=41487"},"modified":"2021-11-22T15:08:30","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T15:08:30","slug":"ggml-spends-248m-to-sponsor-staff-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/ggml-spends-248m-to-sponsor-staff-studies","title":{"rendered":"GGML spends 248m\/- to sponsor staff studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>GEITA Gold Mining Limited (GGML) has since 2018 supported in raising the skills of its employees by helping them to pursue a Masters degree in Business Administration at the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) at a cost of over 248m\/-.<\/p>\n<p>Making the revelation here at the ESAMI premises in Arusha during the graduation ceremony, where nine of their staff were graduating over the weekend, GGML\u2019s Vice-President (Sustainability), Simon Shayo said the move is aimed at realising the Company\u2019s localisation goals that ensure national employees in the management team are competent enough in their areas of work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company has been working hard to identify a pipeline of national talents and has supported a number of development initiatives, notably the postgraduate diploma programme by Regenesys Business School of South Africa, where over 50 senior and middle level national staff has been sponsored to undergo the program from 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLikewise, in efforts to create more room for women in top positions, GGML has designed programmes that empower them, and for the past four years, a number of our female staff have participated in the Female Future Programme implemented by the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) and four graduated this year. The Company is also part of the Chairman\u2019s Young Leader Programme for both male and female employees,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the offer, GGML\u2019s Principal Reliability Engineer, Seif Maftah, being one of nine Masters of Business Administration graduates said the company\u2019s support had come at the opportune time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m ecstatic and feel privileged to get this opportunity. Our Company remains in a field of its own, when it comes to creating both distinct capabilities and competitive advantages for its internal resources.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, GGML\u2019s HR Manager, Hamza Ngunangwa, also graduating said, \u201cI am extremely delighted. Despite the ovid-19 challenge, I would like to commend ESAMI for introducing virtual classes. This really helped us.<\/p>\n<p>On her part, GGML\u2019s Financial Officer, Gama Zephania Sogoni, who was the only female graduate said, \u201cI had to contend with work, school and a pregnancy in the midst of it. I am tremendously proud of this achievement.
