Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has called on Tanzanians to refrain from carrying out human activities along water sources in a bid to guarantee the country constant supply of the precious liquid.<\/p>\n

He also asked members of the community to play a protective role and ensure no one is farming in the water catchment areas.<\/p>\n

The Premier made the statements on Tuesday when addressing residents of Lipande, Narungombe, Machang’anja and Namgurugay villages in Ruangwa district, Lindi region, adding that the government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan is working hard to develop the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Majaliwa, who is in Ruangwa district for a work visit also asked parents to ensure that their children aged between four and five years, are enrolled in schools next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Samia is issuing a lot of money every month to finance provision of fee-free education, so all the parents of children aged between four and five years should ensure their kids secure admission for studies next year,\u201d said Mr Majaliwa.<\/p>\n

In another development, the Premier called on supervisors of all projects being implemented with public funds to ensure the work is being done with quality in mind.<\/p>\n

Inspecting a construction of the 4bn\/- bridge being built at the Mbwemkuru River that connects Ruangwa and Liwale districts, Mr Majaliwa said all these are the efforts by the government to ease movement of people, goods and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past, it was difficult for villagers and residents of the two districts to move from one place to another, they had to use traditional boats while crossing the river. Construction of this bridge provides a huge relief and will fuel development,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Adding, \u201cPresident Samia is fully determined to bring equal development in all parts of the country particularly in the rural areas, by making availability of all social services including road infrastructure, electricity, water, education and health services\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mr Majaliwa also expressed satisfaction at the construction of school and health infrastructure, saying they have met value for money and directed that similar projects follow suit.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the manager of Tanzania Rural and Urban Road Agency (TARURA) in Ruangwa district, Engineer Mashaka Nalupi said the construction of the bridge started in January 2020 and expected to be completed by December 31 this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, the bridge is at 54 per cent of its completion that is set for December 31\u2019 2021,\u201d he briefed the Premier.<\/p>\n
