Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>YOUNG Africans revealed that their game plan to get quick goals in the first half worked well as it handed them vital points in their way game against Mbeya Kwanza at Sokoine Stadium on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Yanga produced a convincing 2-0 win to keep floating at the peak of the NBC Premier League table with 19 points from seven games to cement their march towards the league throne.<\/p>\n

The setback was the end to Mbeya Kwanza’s undefeated home run as prior to the game, they had never lost a match at Sokoine Stadium. Up next for the Jangwani Street giants is a high profile Dar es Salaam Derby against their traditional rivals Simba at the Benjamin Mkapa on Saturday next week, December 11th this year.<\/p>\n

At a post-match briefing, Yanga’s Assistant Coach Cedric Kaze said they knew that the game would be difficult that is why they approached it with the mentality to snatch an early win.<\/p>\n

“We already knew that we will face a good team with energetic players and basing on the fact that we were playing on unfriendly pitch, we had to pile pressure in early stages to finish the game. “We applied that tactic and worked well as such; we are grateful for the three points we have gained here of which we really worked hard to earn and now, we are going back to prepare for the next match,” Kaze said.<\/p>\n

His captain Bakari Mwamnyeto said after sourcing the two goals that they were told to protect the goal that is why they employed thick concrete wall at the defence than the striking force.<\/p>\n

He also seized the opportunity to urge Yanga fans not to lose hopes with their team but rather rally behind it until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

On his part, Mbeya Kwanza Head Coach Harerimana Haruna disclosed that lack of concentration by his charges was the main reason that contributed to the loss.<\/p>\n

“We played with much pressure, especially behind the packed stadium which occasionally made players to lose focus and we were also not good in marking when out of ball possession,” he said.<\/p>\n

He also unveiled that Yanga were using counter-attacks to move forward whenever they lost possession of the ball. The coach then thanked all their supporters who descended at the venue to give them back-up throughout the tense match while insisting that they will bounce back stronger in the upcoming fixtures.<\/p>\n
