Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>BONGO Flavor artist, Bernard Paul Mnyang\u2019anga has been named the new ambassador and spokesman for Justdiggit organization for Africa.<\/p>\n

The appointment of the 32- year old Tanzanian Ben Pol enables his to serve the global organization, Justdiggit and its local partner, LEAD to raise awareness on the benefits of re-greening and address climate change on the global scale.<\/p>\n

\u201cJustdiggit is extremely proud to have Ben Pol, the leading East African artist and environment activist as a solid ambassador to all over the content. This will help to raise awareness on the implementation of nature-based solutions and consequently create an enormous impact on the re-greening of the degraded landscape, water availability, biodiversity and climate issues on the global scale,\u201d said Meron Bezabeth, Justdiggit Communications Manager for Africa.<\/p>\n

Addressing at the Press conference in Dar es Salaam, Bezabeth said Justdiggit in cooperation with LEAD organization and Tanzanian farmers and communities, has already planted 6.3 million trees in different parts of Tanzania, and therefore the ambassadorial of Ben Pol will help raise awareness on the implementation of nature-based solutions and create impact.<\/p>\n

For his part, Ben Pol said he felt honoured by giving him that position as it aims at re-greening Tanzania and the entire Africa for the benefits of the future generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have personally been an environmental activist for quite a long time and this role has come at a right time when more efforts are needed for re-greening Tanzania and the entire Africa. This is of a paramount importance in ensuring that carbon emission are reversed and water scarce are also minimized for benefits of current and future generations.,\u201d<\/p>\n

The Project Manager for LEAD organization, Njamasi Chiwanga said that Ben Pol will surely help in creating awareness and ensure that Tanzania reaches its dream of re-greening by planting trees to over five million hectares of land by the year 2030.<\/p>\n

He said that this is part of the Paris climate change agreement where African countries committed to re-green 100 hectares of land by the year 2030.<\/p>\n
