Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>SOME health stakeholders have underlined the great contribution of digital technology in transforming provisions of health services in the country.<\/p>\n

They also advised the government to give more support to digital innovations in the health sector.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the ‘Daily News’ during the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Workshop for Nonprofits as part of the Word Digital Health Week Celebration in Dar es Salaam, recently, the stakeholders further said it is only digital technology that keeps pace with modern developments.<\/p>\n

Elaborating, a Consultant from Botnar Foundation, Dr Hassan Mshinda, said that currently the health sector is accessible and affordable due to simplicity made by the health innovators within and outside the country.<\/p>\n

He said, currently there is efficient health services due to the use of technology for diagnosing diseases to curing.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cJust a simple example is in previous years, when a patient had to carry a file from the reception to Doctor\u2019s room, but currently the same patient\u2019s details are transferred to the doctor digitally,\u201d Dr Mshinda stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurrently there are many projects on digital health systems handling different challenges in the health sector, example the availability of different digital applications for health,\u201d he further said.<\/p>\n

He added, there are some App where people use in asking different health questions and receive answers and get some health advices including the medication to use within a flash of light.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the project coordinator for the Germany health App, known as Ada, Doctor Mustafa Miraji said Tanzanians use Ada App so effectively especially in getting medical supports over different diseases.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a day many Tanzanians log in our App and ask different questions\u2026 it seems that people with mental health and maternal health find this very friendly to address their health challenges,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Also the Project Director for Apotheker an organization that runs the Afya Teck Project in Kibaha town, Angel Dilip, said for two years that they have been operating in the area, it has simplified the work for the community health workers whose tasks were to make sure that patients get to hospital after getting the medical consultation from them.<\/p>\n

She said the plan was to ensure that Afya Tech is available in all districts in efforts save lives.<\/p>\n
