Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has promised to continue taking care of the National Amputee Football team (Tembo Warriors) following their outstanding performance in the Cup of African Nations for Amputees Football (CANAF).<\/p>\n

President Samia announced the government\u2019s commitment to help the team during an occasion at the State House on Tuesday to congratulate the team for qualifying for the World Cup finals in Turkey next year.<\/p>\n

President Samia said the government will continue to support the national team in their World Cup preparations by facilitating players and officials all necessary things to enable them perform well. “Your task is to fly high the national flag at home or abroad.<\/p>\n

So get ready; I, your mother, am with you. I will give you an excellent caretaker to support you and do well wherever you go.”<\/p>\n

President Samia congratulated the players for successfully writing their names in the history books of Tanzanian football as the first team to go to the World Cup.<\/p>\n

As she noted that many Tanzanian teams have not yet achieved this success since the independence in 1961.<\/p>\n

“The team was established a few years ago in 2018. Some teams have been formed for a long, but they have not qualified for the World Cup. However, these youngsters have successfully qualified for the World Cup.<\/p>\n

We will continue to take care of the team by creating a better environment for them so that they do well in Turkey.”<\/p>\n

Tembo Warriors sailed to the World Cup after hammering Cameroon 5-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam last Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Besides advancing to global competition, the Tanzanian star Frank Ngailo was named the player of the tournament.<\/p>\n

In his speech, the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hassan Abbasi compared Ngailo\u2019s superb quality with that of the French star Kylian Mbapp\u00e9.<\/p>\n

To maintain this achievement, President Samia directed the Ministry for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports to find a strategy to help these young talents maintain the best form.<\/p>\n

That included staging friendly matches to sharpen their skills before heading to Turkey.<\/p>\n

President Samia also thanked the ministry and Tanzania Amputee Football (TAFF) for successfully preparing CANAF and properly organizing it suit people with disabilities in Africa. “I want to thank the ministry for these preparations and TAFF for making the best<\/p>\n

preparations that made a well-organized football tournament for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

The great lesson is that having a disability does not prevent you from doing great things in this world.”<\/p>\n

Also, the TAFF president thanked President Samia for supporting the national team.<\/p>\n

He issued their World Cup qualification achievement as a gift to her continued national team support.<\/p>\n
